About Mentis Care

Mentis Care is building AI-powered neuro-monitoring technology to transform epilepsy care. We combine wearable EEG, advanced AI models and a cloud-based clinical platform to give patients and clinicians a continuous, real-world view of neurological health. We are backed by global pharmaceutical partners.

The role

You’ll set up and lead quality engineering across our mobile apps, web platforms, APIs, cloud services and connected devices, and later our regulated neurological products. This is a hands-on principal role. You’ll design the test architecture, build automation frameworks and define release-quality gates, working closely with Engineering, Product, AI R&D, Quality and Regulatory. As we move into production and regulated software, you’ll build a test strategy that gives engineers fast feedback and also produces traceable evidence where formal verification is needed.

What you’ll do

  • Define the test strategy across mobile, web, backend services, APIs, integrations and cloud infrastructure.
  • Set quality gates for pull requests, CI, release readiness and production deployment.
  • Build and maintain automated test frameworks covering integration, APIs, end-to-end workflows, regression, performance and reliability, and wire them into CI/CD with clear failure reporting.
  • Set up API contract testing and service integration testing, along with reusable fixtures, mocks, test data and environment tooling.
  • Automate testing for iOS and Android apps, including intermittent connectivity, background limits, sync failures and recovery.
  • Test web apps across browsers and devices, and test authentication, access control, sessions, notifications and secure storage.
  • Support testing of Bluetooth Low Energy and wearable EEG workflows as they enter the product.
  • Run performance, load and resilience tests, including failure handling for outages and degraded services.
  • Work with engineers to reproduce complex defects, find root causes and turn production incidents into regression tests.
  • Build traceability from requirements to test evidence and releases, and produce verification evidence for design reviews and future regulatory submissions, working with Quality and Regulatory on IEC 62304 practices.
  • Help make requirements testable before work begins, and mentor engineers on testability and automation.

In your first year

  • Set up the test architecture and automation strategy for the Patient Platform and companion mobile apps.
  • Add reliable automated checks to CI/CD and define minimum release-quality gates.
  • Build regression coverage for critical authentication, patient-data, clinician, API and sync workflows.
  • Define a verification and traceability approach that can grow into our regulated development process.
  • Set up practical quality metrics and release reporting.

What you bring

  • 8+ years in software quality engineering, test engineering, software development in test or a related discipline.
  • Experience designing and building automated test frameworks for production software.
  • Strong programming skills in a modern language such as TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Java, Kotlin, Swift or C#.
  • Significant experience testing web and mobile apps, APIs and distributed backend systems.
  • Hands-on experience with API automation, service integration testing and CI/CD.
  • Strong test design skills, including isolation, mocking, fixtures, test data management and failure diagnostics.
  • Experience with performance, load, reliability or resilience testing.
  • The ability to debug across application, API, database and infrastructure layers.
  • Experience with Agile development and continuous delivery.
  • Clear communication of quality risks to engineers, product and leadership.
  • The ability to work independently and set up engineering practices in a growing company.
  • A degree in computer science, software, electrical or biomedical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

  • Experience with healthcare, medical devices, software as a medical device (SaMD) or other regulated software.
  • Familiarity with IEC 62304, FDA software expectations, design controls, verification and traceability.
  • Mobile automation tools such as Appium, Maestro, XCUITest, Espresso or Detox, and web tools such as Playwright or Cypress.
  • AWS or a comparable cloud platform.
  • Bluetooth Low Energy, wearables, medical devices or IoT.
  • FHIR or HL7.
  • Experience validating time-series, physiological or clinical data.
  • Experience with AI/ML products, including separating software verification from model-performance validation.

Why join us

  • Help build the engineering foundation of a neurological technology platform at a pivotal stage of growth.
  • Work across mobile, cloud, AI and wearable EEG technology.
  • Work directly with product leaders, engineers, researchers and clinical partners.
  • Join a mission-driven company backed by global pharmaceutical partners and working with leading clinical researchers.
