About Mentis Care

Mentis Care is building AI-powered neuro-monitoring technology to transform epilepsy care. We combine wearable EEG, advanced AI models and a cloud-based clinical platform to give patients and clinicians a continuous, real-world view of neurological health. We are backed by global pharmaceutical partners.

The role

You’ll build the mobile apps at the centre of our patient platform, and work on the web apps and APIs behind them. This is a hands-on role for an engineer whose main strength is mobile but who is comfortable across the stack. You’ll take features from the mobile interface through the API and platform services, and own them through testing and production.

What you’ll do

  • Build and maintain accessible, reliable iOS and Android apps for patients, covering health data, symptom and event tracking, notifications, messaging and account management.
  • Design solid mobile architecture: state management, data sync, caching, secure local storage and offline support.
  • Integrate with Apple Health and Android health-data platforms.
  • Build Bluetooth Low Energy workflows for wearable devices with our hardware and firmware teams, including pairing, reconnection and failure recovery.
  • Design and build backend APIs and services, including authentication, authorization and role-based access.
  • Contribute to web apps for clinicians, researchers and partners.
  • Release through the App Store and Google Play, and diagnose performance and reliability issues in production.
  • Follow secure development practices for sensitive health data, and take part in code review, technical design and releases.

In your first year

  • Deliver and harden our companion mobile app.
  • Build reliable API integration, authentication, sync and health-data workflows.
  • Lay the mobile foundation for wearable EEG and Bluetooth-connected devices.
  • Set up testing, release and observability practices for mobile.

What you bring

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering, with significant experience building production mobile apps.
  • Strong native iOS or Android experience, or experience with a modern cross-platform framework.
  • Apps shipped and maintained on the App Store or Google Play.
  • A solid grasp of mobile architecture, lifecycle, networking, state management and data persistence.
  • Experience building and consuming REST APIs, and backend experience in Node.js, TypeScript, Python, Java, .NET or similar.
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript and a modern framework such as React or Next.js.
  • Experience with relational databases, data modelling, authentication and secure development.
  • Familiarity with automated testing, CI/CD and Git.
  • The ability to debug across apps, APIs, backend services and data stores.
  • Clear communication, and comfort working across technical boundaries in a startup.
  • A degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

  • React Native and strong TypeScript skills.
  • Next.js, Node.js or NestJS; AWS; PostgreSQL, Redis, async job processing or event-driven architecture.
  • Apple HealthKit and Android health-data APIs.
  • Bluetooth Low Energy and connected devices.
  • Healthcare or medical device experience, such as HIPAA, GDPR, FHIR/HL7 or IEC 62304.

Why join us

  • Help build the engineering foundation of a neurological technology platform at a pivotal stage of growth.
  • Work across mobile, cloud, AI and wearable EEG technology.
  • Work directly with product leaders, engineers, researchers and clinical partners.
  • Join a mission-driven company backed by global pharmaceutical partners and working with leading clinical researchers.
